Slaughter and May advised Ocado on its new customer fulfilment centre at Erith in South East London. Ocado has agreed to take a 30-year lease of the site following completion of a state-of-the-art 560,000 sq. ft. distribution facility. The first phase of the development will be undertaken by Bericote Properties and forward funded by Tritax Big Box REIT. The customer fulfilment centre will be Ocado’s fourth and its first within Greater London. It is expected that the site will have the capacity to deal with around 200,000 orders a week.
