Slaughter and May is advising MorGen Energy on its West Wales green hydrogen HAR1 project

Slaughter and May advised MorGen Energy on its entry into one of the first Low Carbon Hydrogen Agreements with the Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC) under Hydrogen Allocation Round 1 (HAR1), and a related Grant Funding Agreement with the Secretary of State.  The 20MW project at Milford Haven is one of the first three projects to achieve the milestone and is expected to support the industrial power, chemical feedstock, and decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors in the UK. The agreement underscores the UK’s role in the green hydrogen sector and reinforces MorGen’s ambition to achieve 3 GW of production capacity across Europe by 2030.

Slaughter and May continues to advise on other aspects of the first-of-a-kind project, alongside General Counsel Christine Yassa.
