Slaughter and May is advising INEOS on the acquisition of Eramet Titanium & Iron

Slaughter and May advised INEOS on the acquisition of Eramet Titanium & Iron (“ETI”) in Norway from Eramet for USD $245 million. ETI is an ilmenite transformation plant in Norway producing titanium slag used in the pigment industry and the plant also produces high-purity pig iron sold to European foundries. The agreement between Eramet and INEOS includes a long-term supply contract for ilmenite produced by Grande Côte Opérations, a subsidiary of the Eramet group, which operates the mineral sands mine in Senegal.

The acquisition completed on 21 September 2023, following the satisfaction of regulatory approvals.

Slaughter and May worked closely with Juliet Lewis, the Head of Legal, at INEOS Enterprises and also Advokatfirmaet BAHR (Norway).
