Slaughter and May advised Google on the Competition and Market Authority's ‘Jedi Blue’ investigation
Slaughter and May advised Google in relation to the UK Competition and Market Authority’s (CMA) investigation into its agreement with Meta for online display advertising services (referred to as the ‘Jedi Blue’ agreement).
The CMA announced in March 2022 that it had opened an investigation into whether the agreement was potentially in breach of the UK competition rules. On 10 March 2023, the CMA announced that it had closed its investigation without finding any competition concerns.
Slaughter and May also advised Google in relation to the parallel investigation carried out by the European Commission. That investigation was closed in December 2022 without any finding of competition concerns.
