The Domestic Abuse Response Alliance (DARA) is a major nationwide collaboration between nine leading law firms, including Slaughter and May, and is supervised by leading specialist family law firm, Beck Fitzgerald. DARA also works with LawWorks, the National Centre for Domestic Violence and Finding Legal Options for Women Survivors.
As part of DARA our lawyers provide legal advice and representation to survivors of domestic abuse in need of protective injunctions. Volunteers act for clients suffering from sexual abuse, physical violence, control, coercion, economic abuse, stalking and harassment across the UK.
DARA was recognised at The Lawyer Awards 2023, winning the Pro Bono Initiative of the Year category.
"Slaughter and May supported me very recently in obtaining a non-molestation order. As I did not qualify for legal aid, I thought I would have to go through this process alone. I was delighted to discover that Slaughter and May were supporting people if they fit the set criteria, thankfully for me, I did and from start to finish the whole process was seamless, professional and extremely supportive."
