Benita Yu named Dealmaker of the Year at ALB Hong Kong Law Awards 2022

Slaughter and May Hong Kong office partner Benita Yu has been named Dealmaker Of the Year at the Asia Legal Business Hong Kong Law Awards 2022.

Benita is recognised as one of the industry’s leading lawyers and regularly acts as lead advisor on the most high-profile and significant Hong Kong and Asia-related mergers and acquisitions as well as capital markets transactions. Her latest significant deals include the USD2.3 billion partial offer by SF Holdings for Kerry Logistics, the HK IPO of SenseTime which is the largest AI software company in Asia (in terms of revenue in 2020), and Alibaba on its strategic cooperation, and the reorganisation of its joint venture, with E-House.

Over the course of her career, spanning over three decades, Benita has been a trusted advisor to many long-standing corporate clients and has helped numerous Chinese state-owned, privately-owned companies, Asia-based issuers, and investment banks on a wide range of transactions, such as Alibaba Group, CNBM, SPIC Group (including its listed flagship China Power International Development), Prada SpA, Orient Overseas International Limited (OOIL), SMIC, CICC and a wide range of other investment banks.
