Benita Yu named Dealmaker of the Year and Natalie Yeung named Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year at ALB Women in Law Awards 2023
Slaughter and May Hong Kong Senior Partner Benita Yu has been named Dealmaker Of the Year, North Asia and Partner Natalie Yeung has been named Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year at the Asia Legal Business Women in Law Awards 2023.
Benita frequently acts as lead advisor on the most significant and high-profile Hong Kong and Asia related-mergers and acquisitions as well as capital markets transactions, and is the trusted adviser to a number of long standing clients of the firm.
Throughout her career, Benita has helped numerous Chinese state-owned, privately-owned enterprises, Asian, foreign and multinational issuers, as well as investment banks on a wide range of transactions, such as Alibaba Group, CNBM, SPIC Group (including its listed flagship China Power International Development), Prada SpA, Orient Overseas International Limited (OOIL), SMIC, CICC and a wide range of other investment banks.

What stands out is the dedication and perseverance of everyone I have worked with, be it our clients, other advisers, our colleagues or the regulators. Natalie is an expert on Hong Kong’s competition legislations and has worked on a wide range of antitrust, merger control and regulatory matters involving Hong Kong, EU and UK competition law.
Natalie is also the lead partner of the Firm’s pro bono, charity and community work initiatives in our Hong Kong office. Natalie actively drives the development of our pro bono initiatives, leads our lawyers in joining forces with clients, educational institutions, and the charities they support, and constantly seeks new ways to widen our Firm’s and individual lawyers’ spheres of influence. With her continuous effort, Natalie has built genuine engagement from colleagues across the business in our Hong Kong office to support range of charitable organisations and associations. She also received Gold Award for her contributions in the Hong Kong Law Society 2022 Pro Bono and Community Work Recognition Programme.
