The UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy last month published its highly anticipated Green Paper on “Building our Industrial Strategy.”

This article looks at the extent to which public statements made by the UK Government concerning political intervention in merger control are reflected in the Green Paper, and considers the limitations on the Government of shaking up the UK’s public procurement regime following suggestions in the Green Paper that the Government will seek to promote the interests of the UK supply chain in procurement processes.
