On 3 June 2019 the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) published an independent report evaluating past UK merger decisions in the digital sector. Reflecting on the report’s findings and recommendations, the CMA’s Chief Executive – Andrea Coscelli - considers that the current merger control tools “are and remain, in the main, fit-for-purpose”, noting we should be thinking “evolution, not revolution”.
