BIS Consultation - the case for and against mandatory

The BIS consultation paper contemplates a major reform of the UK competition regime, including the merger of the OFT and the Competition Commission into a single Competition and Markets Authority. Amongst the more significant changes proposed are changes to the UK merger rules which, if implemented, would impose significant additional costs on businesses in the UK.
